Renaissance Festival with Grandma and Grandpa

We went to the renaissance festival with Grandma and Grandpa before they left.

The kids even wore costumes to fit in. We had such a fun time watching the joust and seeing all of the fun people. There was even a mermaid! I'm pretty sure the twins favorite part was the chocolate covered cheesecake slice that we shared.

They are just like their Mama! Grandma and Grandpa had to go back to AZ the next day.

We love when they come to visit and can't wait for them to come back and play. I just had to share this picture of my backyard full of kids.
This is why I love where we live. We are surrounded by wonderful families with such nice kids. Seeing this makes me happy.

Happy Birthday Rilyn

So Rilyn lost another tooth this weekend. This time she and her buddies Owen and Bennet were playing downstairs and she got bonked with a block. Next thing I know she is running upstairs to show me her tooth that got knocked out.
Luckily she was laughing. The boys were a little afraid of getting in trouble but alls well that ends well. The boys and I made our first trip to the beach this week.

The water is still a little chilly but it was fun. Rilyn's birthday was on Saturday. Grandma and Grandpa came out to help us celebrate. They got Rilyn her American Girl doll, who she loves, and Uncle Cody got her tons of clothes and this cool backpack to hold her doll.
Grandma and Grandpa B got her a bed for her doll so now she is all equipped and ready to go. We had a huge Luau for Rilyn and all of her classmates. It was such a fun party!

We had a huge waterballoon fight and a photobooth. Happy 7th birthday Princess!

Mother's Day and more soccer

The kids and Cody totally spoiled me. I got new running shoes and some new stepping stones for my garden that Grandma helped them paint.

I love them. Cody finally made it to Rilyn's soccer game.

I can tell you that he is going to be "that parent" who stands on the sideline getting way too excited. Casen's soccer game was way cold but he still had fun.
Rilyn and her friend Ruby write each other notes in school during their free time (Oh no! It has started already!)
and I love seeing them at the end of the day. They are too cute. Speaking of Rilyn, she lost another tooth!
This one we tied a string around to let her pull it out but then her Daddy thought it was taking too long so he helped her out and managed to shoot her tooth across the room. Now theres a story for you! Saturday there was a fun run at Rilyn's school.
I was the 3rd woman to cross the finish line for the 5K and Rilyn was one of the fastest kids in the mile run. Next day we are winning!! Oh and we found another Herky.
This is Herky Hasslehawk.

Herky and Soccer

The kids had a fun little playdate with the boys that live behind us, Griffin and Bennet. They brought their powerwheel over and the kids raced and "tailgated".

They're too funny! This week we started Herky hunting. Herky is the mascot of the University of Iowa and this summer the Iowa City area is having Herky on Parade. There are 83 statutes all over the area, all with different themes. We are going to try to find all of them. This week we found America Needs Farmers Herky,
Herky of the Corn,
and Ragbrai Herky.
We also had another week of soccer. Casen is playing on a team with his preschool buddies Miles and Boston.

Rilyn had a music performance at school.

It was so fun to watch them sing and dance. After the music performance the boys and I dropped Cody off at the hospital for his eyes fixed.
Goodbye glasses! We finished out the week with a birthday party where the boys had a blast on the bounce house and a BBQ for Medical Partners.

Rilyn's Dance Recital

This Saturday was Rilyn's dance recital.

She did such an amazing job. And Grandma and Grandpa came down to watch her dance too!
Everything is better when Grandma and Grandpa are here. Rilyn danced with her friend Hannah this year.
Those two girlies are too cute! Casen picked out the flowers for Rilyn. I think he did a great job!
